Playing in the Unified Field

Raising & Becoming Conscious, Creative Human Beings

Carla Hannaford, Ph.D.

Carla Hannaford reveals our quantum interconnectedness through “the field,” the unified field of consciousness and information that pervades all existence. Presenting a new paradigm for conscious living and conscious parenting, Carla Hannaford reveals our true powers of influence and vast potential to master our lives. Connection with the full “vibrational” presence of heart and mind allows us to live with more coherence, joy, adventure, play and creativity.

Our ideas about what we are and what we are capable of lag far behind our science. We are dynamic, learning beings with unavoidable power to influence one another and the surrounding world. The time has come to integrate the new science into our lives and the ways we raise and educate our children.

Carla Hannaford, bestselling author of Smart Moves, Why Learning Is Not All In Your Head, draws on science, our heritage of human wisdom, and her own experience as a biologist, parent and educator to advance an empowering new view of reality. Playing in the Unified Field offers inspiration, models and practical advice for raising our families with coherence, presence, love, and trust in their capacity to learn and grow.

“Propelled by Hannaford's sure voice and enthusiasm, and focused toward revealing the everyday reality of human consciousness and relationships. Science, it turns out, can turn some of our most basic ideas on their heads and provide the basis for seemingly extra-sensory phenomena; for instance, the electromagnetic fields generated by the heart and brain extend outside the body, and can influence the mental and emotional states of those around us. Hannaford explains how scientific research continues to expand upon, rather than circumscribe, the potential of human consciousness, broadening horizons for all kinds of human experience.”

“Dr. Carla Hannaford's book, Playing in the Unified Field, is a tremendously important book that all humans, from teens to adults would benefit greatly from reading, especially parents of all ages. Here, she has laid out a delightful set of articulate, authentic, and poetic images. I wish that I could have read this book before I became a parent!”

—William A. Tiller, Professor Emeritus Stanford University

author of Science and Human Transformation

“A fascinating and brilliantly synthesized exploration of science, consciousness, and spirit — broad enough to engross aspirants of diverse disciplines and illuminate the unity of all life. Personal, honest, erudite, and penetrating. A unique contribution to evolution on many levels. I am delighted at the insights and personal growth this brilliant offering will elicit!”

—Alan Cohen, author of A Deep Breath of Life

“This book is a blend of personal experiences and scientific data focusing on getting in touch with our own deepest emotions and playful spirit in order to enrich our inner lives and to ennoble our conscious selves. I found Carla Hannaford's honesty refreshing and poignant.”

—Dr. Dorothy G. Singer, Senior Research Scientist

Psychology Department, Yale University

“In this passionate call to live life fully with joy, play, and authenticity, Carla Hannaford awakens us to a new and emerging paradigm of reality. She offers the science of quantum physics to support her conclusions that each of us, as part of the unified whole, affects each other. By living with an intention to create coherence in our lives, we create the possibility of personal fulfillment for all.”
